A series of examples to illustrate the importance of quotient sets.
In this brief article, Luis Sánchez Polo and I discuss a bit about quotient sets in mathematics. The article includes an explanation on what quotient sets are, as well as a few examples that show how these are powerful tools in mathematics that allow us to understand many concepts which arise in a wide range of different areas. It is aimed towards undergraduate students, particularly to students in the first year of their studies in mathematics.

En este breve artículo, Luis Sánchez Polo y yo tratamos algunos conceptos básicos sobre los conjuntos cocientes, en un esfuerzo por aclarar qué son y por qué resultan tan importantes como herramienta matemática. Con este propósito exponemos algunos ejemplos conocidos e ilustrativos a lo largo de varias áreas distintas de las matemáticas. El artículo está principalmente dirigido a alumnos del primer año del grado en matemáticas.
